Audio files can be uploaded to UpStage and assigned to a stage for use in your cyberformance. The on-stage audio tools allow tracks to be played, paused, looped and volume adjusted.
More complex soundscapes can be achieved by using sound mixing software on your computer and sending a live audio stream to UpStage. See the section on Streaming for more information about how to do this.
Click on the Audio tool icon in the left-hand tool bar. The Audio overlay appears at the top of the stage, showing the tracks that have been assigned to this stage. Click on a track and it will be played, and heard by all players and audience members currently on the stage.
The play icon changes to a pause button, and a slider below the icon shows the length of the track and progress through it.
Right-click on the track you want to loop. A menu appears. The first setting is the loop tool. When the toggle icon is gray, the track will play once and then stop.
Click on the toggle icon. It becomes green. Now, the track will loop continuously until you stop it.
The second tool on the right-click menu is the volume slider. Move it to the left to make the sound quieter, or to the right to make it louder.
Tip: right-click on the track before you start playing it, to set the volume to the desired level. Otherwise the tracks will play at full volume.
